KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has been awarded an ‘A’ score for environmental transparency and action for climate, by the global environmental non-profit CDP.

Based on data reported through CDP’s 2024 Climate Change questionnaire, KONE is among the few companies that have achieved an ‘A’ out of nearly 25,000 companies scored.

KONE has reported through CDP since 2009, and 2024 marks the 12th consecutive year for KONE to receive a leadership score of A or A-.

Our innovative solutions, such as the regenerative drive technology, significantly reduce the elevator’s energy consumption, leading to a smaller carbon footprint. KONE was the first in its industry to set ambitious, science-based targets to reduce emissions. With its climate pledge, KONE is committed to a 50% reduction in the emissions from its own operations (scope 1&2), compared to a 2018 baseline and pledged to have carbon neutral operations by 2030. In addition, KONE targets a 40% reduction in emissions related to its products’ materials and lifetime energy consumption, relative to products ordered (Scope 3).
