Finnair is looking at expanding its operations to Thailand. Winter 2026/2027 will see Finnair operate a record 25 weekly flights from its base in Helsinki international airport. That will position the airport and the airline as a prime gateway for the larger Scandinavian region for travel towards holiday hotspots in Thailand.
Up to Three Daily Flights to Bangkok
The currently most served destination in Thailand for Finnair is Bangkok and that dominant position will be further strengthened with the 2026 winter schedule amendments.
Weekly flights will increase current level at 18 to 22 starting late October 2026. That means that Finnair flights to Bangkok will have up to a 3 daily flights during the peak season.
Direct Flights to Krabi Return
The Finnish airline will also resume flights to Krabi, Thailand. Flights were suspended at the end of the 2019 winter season. 2026 will be the first time in 6 years for Finnair operating flights from Helsinki to Krabi.
Finnair will have a very busy schedule of flights from Helsinki to Thailand during upcoming winter season. The airline will be operating flights to 3 destinations in the country between October 25th 2026 and March 27th 2027.
Finnair’s Thai destinations will include:
- Krabi – returning after 6 years of absence
- Bangkok – up to 3 daily flights
- Phuket – 5 times per week
Demand for Flights to Thailand Keeps Growing
The decision to expand operations to Thailand in 2026 is driven by the strong demand Finnair has had for flights so far this year and the fact that its European competitors are pushing it to expand.
Flights to Thailand primarily target the leisure segment.
“Thailand is undoubtedly one of our most popular long-haul winter destinations. Up to three daily flights to Bangkok meet the ever-growing demand, and the capacity is significant even by European standards. Krabi offers an alternative for Phuket for those looking for a quieter beach holiday,” Finnair’s Vice President of Network management Perttu Jolma explains.
