Salo Tech Opens Solar Panel Factory in Rayong

Salo Tech (Thailand) Limited has opened a brand new solar panel factory in Rayong, Eastern Thailand. The Finnish Minister of Foreign Trade and Development, Ville Tavio, was the official opener of the factory. In his speech, Minister Tavio highlighted the importance of technology cooperation between Finland and Thailand.

Salo Tech (Thailand) Limited is a joint venture between Finland’s Salo Tech Investment, FinnFund, and Thailand’s PEA Encom. Finnfund is an investment company owned by the Finnish state, and PEA Encom is a subsidiary of the Provincial Electricity Authority.
The opening was attended by more than 100 guests, who represented both the company’s owners and customers.


The production capacity of the new factory is 100 megawatts per year, which in terms of the 545 W panels currently in production means an annual production of approximately 180,000 panels.

The main market area for the panels will be Thailand and Southeast Asia, but export to Finland and elsewhere is also possible.
Demand for solar panels in Thailand and Southeast Asia is on the rise. That’s why Salo Tech’s production may increase in the future.
